Once you’ve selected the right OMP racing seat, proper installation is critical for both safety and driving ergonomics.

OMP fixed-back seats use side-mount brackets, which attach to the seat shell and then to a vehicle-specific base or floor mount.

Core Installation Components

1. Side Mounts

Allow height and rake adjustment. Steel mounts are common; aluminum saves weight.

2. Seat Bases / Sliders

Vehicle-specific adapters bolt to factory mounting points. Sliders add adjustability but may not be allowed in all race classes.

3. Harness Routing

Ensure belts pass cleanly through seat openings at correct angles to meet FIA guidelines.

4. Floor & Cage Clearance

Check clearance to roll cages, door bars, and transmission tunnels before final torque.

Pro Installation Tips

Sit in the car with helmet on before tightening bolts

Confirm steering wheel reach and pedal extension

Use FIA-grade hardware when required

Follow torque specs from OMP & mount manufacturers

Improper mounting can compromise both safety and homologation compliance, so taking the time to install correctly is essential.
